This is the age of great expectation. Though the pathway of man is filled with horrors and nightmares, many people are continually looking for a paradise which they think is just somewhere around the corner.

Now Peter, James and John certainly had no idea of what they were about to experience that very day when the Master called them out from among the twelve disciples.

No doubt, like all Jews, they were looking for a physical kingdom that the Messiah of their God would restore to them before all of them would die. Even after Christ's resurrection and return to spend some forty days with them, they were still harboring that desire.

Read Acts chapter 1. However, Jesus was speaking of a spiritual kingdom in which the Spirit of God would work within men. Because the Holy Ghost was not yet given, they could not fully understand all that Jesus had spoken.Kleos (Greek: κλέος) is the Greek word often translated to "renown", or "glory".It is related to the word "to hear" and carries the implied meaning of "what others hear about you".
